Thanks. You might be right about Aquaman or Mera, but I always felt that if the Amazons were from an island nation their motifs would be more nautical as well, including things like sea shells, sea gulls, and ocean life.
Personally, I don't take the word 'Warrior' likely to this particular character only because it's been overly-used and abused to the point of an exploitative stereotype. This explains why most superheroines like Ms. Marvel, Sue Richards, She-Hulk, & Supergirl to name a few are more wonderful than her only because they're marketed as 'Superheroines'. Not very good for WW in my opinion. But in this case, I do take this work very likely. It's nicely done. It's fascinating how many things can do with Illustrator. The clam necklace is a nice touch & I also like the way you made her so friendly. That's the WW I know. I highly commend you for etching the designs on those bracelets so painstakingly well. It looked like it took a long time to do them in Illustrator.
Thanks. The bracelet patterns are intricate, but I drew them as a repeating pattern; so that made it at least a little bit easier. Apparently I wasn't the only one with the idea to give Wonder Woman a necklace. The new Wonder Woman in DC has a collar now. We'll have to see how that evolves over time.
True, but it seems that Wonder Woman is the only one where the collar is just a natural part of a shirt. It's sort of like a Goth leather choker or something. I think her costume would work just as well or better without the collar.
Sort of like a Goth leather choker? That's the problem with modern writers. They seem to want to gothicize everything at the expense of the character's true nature. Making WW gothic is not wonderful at all, it's trashy. Well...to me that is.
Thanks. Good point now that you mention it. I'm used to seeing her with a long sword in comics and collectibles. It's not until very recently that they started drawing her with a shorter, more Greek looking sword. I guess that would be easier to use in close combat.
Thanks. I appreciate the feedback. I was worried about that, but at the same time I was thinking battlefield armor. I was trying for something in between impenetrable and unencumbered. I also like the eagle motif that has been hinted at in her breast plate throughout the years.
