3D Rendering of a trefoil knot-shaped soap bubble.

This is my first attempt at soap film. It took me quite a while to get it to a point I like, but I think it turned out Ok.

3D Software: Designed, modeled and rendered with Newtek Lightwave.

Nice bubble! Although it appears to me that this bubbly is completely filled with water :)

If you don't want it to look like solid water you probably need to turn the knot from a solid object to a tube with thin walls - i.e. generate a thin 'shell' from the object.

I don't know the Lightwave tools - but one way could be 'Uniform Mesh Resampling' in Meshlab. Might turn out like a bottle though because a really thin object is hard to create that way.

Another easier way of course is not to use ior/refraction in the material - so the light passes straight through. But that might be too simple ...

Cool challenge! :)
